Course Description

The programme is based on the Understanding Faith

resource from the National Centre of Religious Studies (NCRS). The course consists of three Achievement Standards which are all internally assessed. Each Achievement Standard is worth six credits. The department will offer 18 credits from the following topics of study during the year.

 
  • Describe key beliefs of a religious tradition    
  • Describe the purpose of a sacred text within a religious tradition
  • Describe the application of the key ethical principle of a religious tradition to an issue
  • Describe a significant development within a religious tradition
