PSc 300

Level 3 Physical Science

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr T. Fanning.

Physical Science

PSc 300

We will look at Physics and Earth Space Science

  • Carrying out a fair test to find a mathematical relationship and modelling the uncertainties around it.

  • Learning about if life could exist on other planets

  • Learning about a local geological event and going on a field trip to the site.

  • Researching nuclear power and its uses.

  • Preparing for future study in this area by doing Mechanics and further Physics externals if needed.

This subject leads onto UE or depending on externals chosen tertiary study around Physics and or Geology.

Int - 18 (8 optional)

Ext -6-14 depending on number selected.

UE Lit Reading - 4

UE Lit Writing- 0

Total typical credits offered: 18

  • 91521 Carry out a practical investigation to test a physics theory relating two variables in a non-linear relationship

  •  91522 Demonstrate understanding of the application of physics to a selected context

  • 91525 Demonstrate understanding of Modern Physics

  • 91415 Investigate an aspect of astronomy

  • 91412 Investigate the evidence for an earth space event.
