Course Description

Level 1 Science
This course will act as a foundation for future Science at our College. The course will aim to link Science into local contexts and provide practical experience around Science across Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Agriculture and Horticulture. Next year the students will select different Science options from the credits mentioned that will help them towards their career direction.
Key teaching will include:
-Heat transfer in an Umu.
-Application and learning of different chemical reactions.
-Effects of deforestation in Porirua.
-Microbes and food production with links to local companies.
-Genetics and inheritance.
-Varroa and management of Varroa in beekeeping.
