Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr P. Madar.
This course offers the opportunity to experience and participate in a wide range of physical activities, in a variety of contexts. This includes a ski trip to Mt Ruapehu. Knowledge from Level 2 Physical Education will be built on and applied to a variety of situations. A high level of critical inquiry is required for most achievement standards and evaluations relating to socio-cultural aspects are required for most standards.

Biophysical Principles (biomechanics, functional anatomy, sports psychology, skill learning)
Sports Coaching & Leadership
Sports Performance
Recommended Prior Learning
Active participation and effort applied at Sport Studies 200
Is able to run a beep test at Level 6
Has shown previous involvement in school sports as a player/manager/coach.
Is willing to support the sports & PE department in running activities that promote health and physical activity.
